Andrea's apartment

The project involves the complete renovation of a 68 sq. m apartment located in Glyfada, Athens. The goal was to redesign the space, in order to create a two-bedroom apartment with a cozy and efficient living room, along with an open kitchen. Within the new floor plan, particular emphasis was placed on the kitchen and living room area, as it intends to offer a harmonious blend of functionality, aesthetics, and well-being, creating a versatile and inviting space that enhances the overall quality of life for occupants, as it encourages communication, bonding, and socializing.
The living room, specifically, underwent a significant transformation, primarily through the total modification of the old fireplace, which now stands out as a highlight, with its unique geometry and function. It forms a distinctive complex that resembles an ode to the circle, by the elements that compose it. Retaining the semicircular shape of the hearth, the lower portion was preserved and was complemented by a strategically positioned TV above and storage cabinets on both sides.
The infusion of opulent materials such as California marble, meticulously crafted oak wood surfaces, and bespoke cabinetry, further enriches the architectural narrative, imbuing the living area with a sense of refined luxury. These architectural elements serve as both functional components and aesthetic focal points.
On the other hand, the partition wall that stands between the living room and the one bedroom, with the large window on top of it in the total length, maximizes natural light, imparts an illusion of heightened space and also serves as a shelf for books and
decorative objects.
Finally, the bathroom with its playful terrazzo tiles and terracotta cabinets resembling a gate, contributes to a warm color palette, that greatly enhancesthe overallvisual quality.
