SS Hair salon

The renovation of the hair salon served as an opportunity to create a space that goes beyond the standard function of a commercial use and approaches design as a spatial experience.

The architectural proposal moves between a minimalist aesthetic and an industrial design atmosphere, with its main tools being clean geometries, dark color choices, and the materiality of concrete and metal. These elements are balanced by the presence of wood and the softness of textile surfaces, creating a dialogue between austerity and intimacy.

The floor plan organization aims for maximum functionality, with a clear distinction between work and circulation zones. The workstations are arranged linearly, offering comfort and direct access to equipment and products, while the washing area forms a more inward-focused environment, where controlled lighting intensity contributes to a relaxing experience.

Natural light plays a decisive role in the spatial experience. The large curtains on the double-height facade act as a filter, transforming the light throughout the day, rendering different spatial qualities and enhancing the dramatic effect of its volume. The reception area, with its central wooden surface and minimalist lighting, functions as a reference point that unifies the different functions of the shop.

The study attempts to redefine the typology of the hair salon as a space for social gathering and an aesthetic experience, integrating it into a broader architectural narrative where materiality, light, and scale co-shape the everyday use.
